The City of Ekurhuleni is recruiting a Special Workman to support Blockages and Clean-up Teams within the Water & Sanitation Department. The role involves maintaining sewer infrastructure, operating machinery and vehicles, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring all work meets approved standards. Reporting duties, adherence to safety legislation, and preventing financial losses through proper work practices are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sewer infrastructure
• Ensure completed work done by the team is in accordance with approved standards
• Effective operate all machinery and vehicles as required, according to set instructions and standards
• Report on daily and weekly teamwork outputs against planned work targets
• Comply with legislation procedure and organizational policy
• Apply good work ethic in order to prevent financial losses
• Efficiently and effectively attend to customers complaints

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Valid Code C1 license with PrDP
• Water and Sanitation Reticulation certificate/ Plumber Certificate
• 3 years' technical experience in a similar environment
